Intro
Shea is an HCPC-registered Chartered Physiotherapist with a First-Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy. He has a particular interest in treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries, with experience across private practice, rugby and elite sport. He is committed to helping patients reduce pain, restore function and return to the activities that matter most—whether that’s work, sport or everyday life.
Having played rugby at a high level himself, Shea understands the physical and mental demands of competitive sport. This firsthand experience has given him valuable insight into the preparation, resilience and commitment required to perform in a high-performance environment.
Alongside his clinical work, Shea is part of the Sport NI Practitioner Development Programme, supporting physiotherapists and the wider multidisciplinary team working with Commonwealth Games athletes. This has provided valuable experience within a high-performance, multi-sport environment while learning from experienced clinicians across a range of sporting disciplines.

Education & Experience
Shea has experience working in private musculoskeletal practice, assessing and treating a wide range of conditions affecting people of all ages and activity levels. His clinical placements have strengthened his assessment, manual therapy and rehabilitation skills, enabling him to deliver evidence-based treatment tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
Outside the clinic, Shea has worked as a sports massage therapist and pitch-side first aider with Carlisle Rugby Club, supporting the club’s 1st XV. He has also worked with girls’ and women’s rugby teams, from Under-16 through to senior level, at both Cooke RFC and Carlisle RUFC. His responsibilities have included injury assessment, sports massage, taping, rehabilitation support and pitch-side injury management during training and competition.
Shea has also had the opportunity to shadow the physiotherapy team at the Belfast Giants, gaining further experience in injury management within a professional sporting environment.

Shea believes every patient deserves a personalised treatment plan centred around their individual goals. Whether recovering from a sports injury, managing persistent pain, returning to work or simply getting back to everyday activities, he combines detailed assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise rehabilitation and patient education to achieve the best possible outcomes.
His approach focuses not only on relieving symptoms but also on identifying and addressing the underlying cause of injury. By improving movement, building strength and promoting long-term resilience, Shea aims to reduce the risk of future problems and help patients achieve lasting results. He is passionate about creating a friendly, supportive environment where every patient feels informed, confident and supported throughout their recovery.
