Luke Thomas Neal is the owner of North Down Chiropractic Clinic, he graduated with distinction in 2013 from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic. Since graduation Luke has dedicated himself to continuous and rigorous post graduate learning, he spends significant time travelling around the world learning from the best minds in Chiropractic, Physiotherapy and the allied health professions. Luke is then able to bring this contemporary knowledge back for his patients in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Luke has a keen interest in treating elite sports people, however most of his patient base are made up of every day people and weekend warriors.
Lukes treatment philosophy focuses around initial hands on care to ease your pain, often followed by a thorough working up of all of your daily habits and movements to identify the REASON you originally developed the pain. Once this has been discovered Luke aims to teach his patients how to look after themselves offering a long term solution rather than a short term fix. This can be done through changing daily habits as well as exercise rehabilitation.
Luke believes each patients story is unique and therefore deserves time and attention to work thorough their issues, this has led to him seeing often chronic, end of the line cases where other professions have failed.
Luke has worked with elite golfers, football players, powerlifters, rowers, MMA athletes amongst others.
Local practitioner, Helen Worthington graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2004. Soon after graduation, she set up North Down Chiropractic, a multidisciplinary practice in the seaside town of Bangor with a team of highly qualified therapists including cranio-sacral, spinal rehab and massage therapists. Within 5 years of building her North Down practice, she realised her long awaited ambition of gaining postgraduate qualification in veterinary chiropractic in 2012 and in 2015 she handed over the reins of North Down Chiropractic to Dr Luke Neal who has worked as an associate chiropractic in the clinic. Today her patient base consists of both humans and animals, continuing to treat her human clients at North Down Chiropractic in Bangor. She also has a mobile practice whereby she travels throughout the province treating horses but is predominately based at the Irish Equine Fitness and Rehabilitation Centre outside Lisburn and another equine yard just outside Carrickfergus. Andrea graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (University of Glamorgan) in 2004, and subsequently obtained her Doctor of Chiropractic qualification and a Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) in Chiropractic Clinical Development.
Andrea’s participation in various team sports during her teenage years, along with a keen interest in holistic health led her to pursue a career in Chiropractic and to later train as a yoga teacher. Andrea is a busy mum of three and enjoys family days out, outdoor pursuits, and practicing yoga.
Alongside treating the general population, Andrea has a special interest in treating babies, children, pregnant/post-natal women, and the breastfeeding dyad; as a result she has completed numerous post-graduate pregnancy chiropractic and chiropractic paediatrics courses. As an adjunct she has trained in pregnancy yoga and in hypopressives technique (postural, core and pelvic floor strengthening exercises).
Andrea also likes the challenge of treating disc and neurological conditions and enjoys treating her ever-growing senior patient base who never fail to amaze her!
Further post-graduate education that Andrea has completed includes:
Dry Needling (Medical) Acupuncture; Kinesiotaping; Traditional Sports Taping; Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (Rockblades); and UK Hypopressives.
Training, health and well-being has always been a passion of Helen’s.
Working in Corporates, She witnessed the impact that sitting at a desk for long hours can have on posture, with problems arising such as repetitive stress injury, headaches, muscle tightness, pain and stiffness. This, as well as her interest in human anatomy are what motivated her to train in Massage Therapy. She studied Holistic Massage, Sports Massage, Seated Acupressure, Deep Tissue Massage and Handsfree Massage and continue to research new forms of massage.
She thrives on seeing clients’ physical and mental well-being improve through regular massage therapy.
